Title: Washington and Idaho Territory Manager

Reports To: Director of Sales

Division: Brewery

Classification: Full time Exempt

Supervises: none

Travel: 40%

Wage range: $70,000 - $85,000

Position Summary

The WA & ID Territory Manager will be a member of Von Ebert Brewing’s brewing team. This position is responsible for growing and managing Von Ebert Brewing’s sales throughout all distributor footprints in Washington (excluding SW WA) and Idaho, with a strong focus on the Seattle market. This includes securing new distribution as well as maintaining existing accounts, building incredible relationships with owners and buyers, and working closely with the distributor representatives to maintain and develop accounts. The candidate must be able to travel throughout every area we distribute to in Washington and Idaho minus SW WA.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Grow sales by pursuing new on- and off-premise distribution through networking, outreach, and cold calls
  • Call on existing off and on-premise accounts to secure new distribution and maintain current business
  • Work with accounts and sales reps with our distributors in Washington and Idaho, minus SW WA
  • Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with account staff, buyers, and owners. The same goes for distributor sales personnel.
  • Develop and implement strategies for sales in the assigned region
  • Work with Director of Sales and distributor partners to create, execute and achieve sales goals
  • Applies knowledge of the field to ensure the product matches the needs of the account
  • Answers inquiries from clients concerning our offerings and the industry at large
  • Is responsive to concerns of quality and quick to find solutions
  • Execute on and off-premise events, including beer festivals, tastings, and promotions that generate brand awareness and sales
  • Coordinate all event logistics, staffing, and product selections
  • Attend and represent the brand
  • Be aware of POs, follow through with distributor reps on account level commitments, and ensure allocations are set
  • Monitor distributor inventories to minimize out-of-stocks and ensure product availability
  • Participate in distributor crew drives, distributor rep work withs, and any other sales/team building activities as needed
  • Periodically prepares and reports results, status of accounts, and leads to Director of Sales
  • Travel for sales meetings/training at the brewery; Work with other members of the Von Ebert team as needed
  • Complete necessary administrative reporting and communications on a timely basis
  • Adhere to all budgets outlined to you and your territory
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge And Skill Requirements

  • Acquire state mandated alcohol permits within first 30 days of hire
  • Valid Driver License, good driving record and a reliable vehicle for work use
  • Willingness to regularly work evenings and weekends
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently
  • Excellent time management skills; ability to be proactive and take initiative
  • Must be (or become) well versed in VIP and Karma applications with the ability to use them to identify and increase sales opportunities
  • Excellent organizational skills; detail oriented & able to manage priorities and routine functions effectively and efficiently
  • Strong persuasion skills but with the ability to listen
  • Strong work ethic and self-starting attitude; motivated to work hard in a sometimes-unstructured environment
  • Strong communication skills: ability to talk to others to convey information effectively; strong written communication skills
  • Decision making skills: collect, assess and interpret relevant information and make sound judgment
  • Responds positively and quickly to voicemails, emails, both internally and externally
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office Suite; ability to use a telephone and office equipment
  • Understands principles and processes for providing excellent customer service
  • Passion for craft beer and an active participant in the craft beer community
