Step into a pivotal Surgical Tech opportunity in Rochester, New York, where your precise hands, steady judgment, and collaborative spirit become essential to patient journeys from pre-op to post-op recovery. Beginning December 8, 2025, this multi-week assignment invites you to bring expert sterile technique, efficient instrument handling, and unwavering focus to busy operating rooms, making a tangible impact on outcomes and patient confidence. As you envision your next chapter, consider the inspiring settings of Upstate New York—the serene beauty of the Finger Lakes, the majestic falls along the Niagara corridor, and the year‑round energy of a vibrant cityscape that blends innovation with rich cultural experiences. This role empowers you to grow professionally while contributing to a state renowned for its medical excellence and resilient communities.
Location Benefits
Rochester stands as a dynamic medical hub with a reputation for high‑quality patient care, cutting‑edge technology, and collaborative OR teams. You’ll join colleagues who value precision, safety, and patient advocacy, in environments designed to support skilled Surgical Techs in delivering exemplary outcomes. The region offers a balanced quality of life with access to diverse outdoor activities, excellent dining, and an approachable urban vibe, all while benefiting from a robust health‑care ecosystem that supports continuous learning and cross‑specialty exposure. Beyond Rochester, you’ll have the opportunity to work across various locations within the United States, broadening your professional network, refining adaptable skill sets, and experiencing different hospital cultures. Expect competitive compensation, a straightforward travel lifecycle, and the chance to build a resilient portfolio of experiences that reinforce your career trajectory.
Role Specifics and Benefits
As a Surgical Tech, you will collaborate closely with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists to maintain sterile fields, prepare and pass instruments, and anticipate the needs of the surgical team. Your responsibilities include meticulous instrument setup and verification, meticulous gowning and gloving of the team, adherence to sterile technique, and timely turnover between cases to maximize OR efficiency. You will assist in case cart preparation, specimen handling, counts, and documentation, ensuring patient safety and compliance with hospital protocols. Your keen attention to detail supports intricate procedures across specialties, from general and orthopedic to urology or gynecology, while you adapt to evolving case requirements with poise.
This role also emphasizes substantial professional growth. You’ll have opportunities to expand your skill set through cross‑training in more complex procedures, participate in continuing education programs, and engage with mentors who support your career advancement. The position is designed to reward initiative and reliability with extension opportunities, enabling you to deepen expertise within surgical services while expanding responsibilities across facilities within the network.
Benefits include competitive pay and a comprehensive support package tailored for traveling professionals. Weekly pay ranges from $1,366 to $1,437, reflecting your experience and the assignments you take on. You’ll receive housing assistance to ease relocation and lodging logistics, with the potential for housing stipends or furnished options to suit personal preferences. A completion or performance bonus is available in appropriate circumstances, and extension opportunities provide a pathway to longer assignments or permanent roles. You’ll never be left without support—our 24/7 assistance team is available to help you navigate travel logistics, lodging, credentialing, and any on-site challenges. While you travel with the company, you’ll benefit from dedicated travel coordination, orientation resources, and ongoing safety and compliance guidance to ensure smooth transitions between facilities.
