Job Description
Are you ready to shape outcomes in the OR and advance your surgical tech career in a state rich with natural beauty and big-city access? This travel-friendly Surgical Tech role places you in Robinson, Illinois, a welcoming community that blends small-town warmth with easy access to the adventures of the Prairie State. Beginning 11/21/2025, you’ll join a fast-paced operating room team, providing essential instrument support, maintaining sterile technique, and helping surgeons deliver safe, efficient care across a range of specialties. As you prepare patients and set the stage for successful procedures, you’ll gain exposure to varied case mixes, sharpen critical thinking, and build the kind of hands-on expertise that opens doors to leadership and advanced perioperative roles. And beyond the OR, Illinois offers a tapestry of experiences—from quiet river towns and scenic parks to world-class cultural offerings in nearby urban hubs—to enrich your downtime and broaden your perspective.
In Robinson and the surrounding Illinois landscape, you’ll enjoy a supportive, close-knit community atmosphere while still reaping the advantages of a broad healthcare network. The base location offers affordable housing options, reliable commute times, and access to regional healthcare resources that emphasize patient-centered care. If you love travel, this role can also open doors to assignments across the United States, letting you choose locations that match your lifestyle—from bustling metropolitan centers to tranquil rural settings. You’ll have the chance to experience diverse hospital cultures, learn new surgical technologies, and collaborate with seasoned perioperative teams, all while earning competitive weekly pay and enjoying the potential for housing support and flexible extension opportunities.
Your day-to-day responsibilities as a Surgical Tech include preparing the sterile field for procedures, arranging and passing instruments, maintaining instrument counts, assisting with gowning and draping, and anticipating the needs of the surgeon and scrub nurse. You’ll monitor sterility, assist with specimen handling, and support patient safety in the OR from induction through closure. This role emphasizes professional growth within the specialty, with continued opportunities to refine lens of technique, instrumentation mastery, and teamwork. Competitive benefits accompany your assignments: a strong weekly pay range ($1,494-$1,584), housing assistance to ease transitions, potential stipends or bonuses, and chances to extend assignments to maintain continuity of care. You’ll also have access to comprehensive support from a dedicated travel team, including 24/7 assistance, compliance guidance, and rapid resolution of any issues that arise while you’re on assignment. The program is designed to help you stay focused on patient outcomes while you expand your clinical skill set.
Our company is committed to empowering staff by fostering a culture of respect, growth, and collaboration. We believe in equipping you with the tools and mentorship you need to advance your career, whether that means taking on leadership roles in the OR, pursuing specialty certifications, or expanding your scope across perioperative services. You’ll join a team that values your contributions, supports your wellbeing, and celebrates your professional development as a shared goal. With a focus on work-life balance, continuous education, and a transparent, supportive environment, we strive to make every assignment both rewarding and sustainable.
