Under the direction of the Director of Operations, the Supply Chain Manager manages inventory, production planning, purchasing, and shipping and receiving activities, supporting production objectives at minimum cost and consistent with company quality standards and customer requirements. The position will be responsible for:
- Controlling accurate inventory levels that support planned sales
- Purchasing materials and services at minimum cost that meet company quality standards and production schedules.
- Manage company logistics at the least cost that meets production and customer objectives
- Negotiate master supply agreements and strategic supplier management
Essential Duties And Responsibilities - Manages and maintains the company’s inventory at defined levels.
- Conducts cycle counts and year end physical counts
- Defines and corrects root causes of cycle count variations
- Manages and maintains the company’s ERP/MRP purchasing system and procedures to ensure honest and ethical relationships with all suppliers.
- Maintains, reviews, and revises the Approved Supplier list.
- Audits, tracks, and reports supplier performance.
- Negotiates the purchase of equipment, raw materials, parts, and/or service.
- Drive favorable price variance through supplier negotiations, alternative sourcing, and active supply chain management
- Researches and investigates new technologies, materials parts, and/or processes in support of company product development, and/or engineering requirements.
- Supervise and guide material flow through the system and shop to include all raw goods, finished goods, and customer supplied material.

- Technical knowledge of the raw material and services performed at the company
- Understand and interpret engineering drawings
- Lead diverse teams and work jointly with both internal and external customers/suppliers.

- Written and verbal communication skills.
- Analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills
- Lean manufacturing methods, including Just-In-Time
Preferred Education And/or Experience - Bachelor’s degree required, an MBA is desirable or equivalent experience and/or education.
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment or related experience and/or education
- Previous experience as a Purchasing, Supply Chain, or Production Manager.
- Netsuite experience highly preferred, ERM experience required.
- Certification in Six-Sigma preferred
- Certification in CPM and/or CPIM is strongly preferred, but not required.
Work Environment - Minimal exposure to dirt, dust, fumes, chemical vapors, metal work and loud noise
- Some physical activity including lifting up to 25 lbs, bending, and standing
