Legal Assistant Position with Seacoast Criminal Defense Firm

Location: Hampton, New Hampshire

Positions: 25-35 hours per week

A well-established Criminal Defense Law Firm is looking for a motivated and organized Legal Assistant to join our team. Law Students and those interested in criminal defense are welcome to apply.

About the practice:

You will be working directly with Andrew Cotrupi, a seasoned criminal defense attorney on the Seacoast. He has been in private practice for 28 years and is a former manager of the Public Defender's Office in Stratham, NH, bringing a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to justice that forms the foundation of our practice.

About the role:

This is more than an administrative position; it's an educational opportunity. While administrative tasks are the primary responsibility, you will have the unique chance to work closely with the attorney on all aspects of case preparation and strategy.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage client and case files at an administrative level using the case management software, Clio.
• Interact with clients, answer phones and provide a compassionate and professional point of contact.
• Assist with court filings and discovery management.
• Organize and track deadlines and court dates.

Qualifications:

• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
• Familiarity with legal case management software like Clio is helpful but not required.
• Previous experience in a legal or professional office environment is a plus, but we welcome applications from dedicated and eager individuals.

Compensation:

Competitive pay based on experience.
