SUMMARY
The Director of Human Resources is a strategic leader responsible for driving the full spectrum of HR initiatives to support organizational goals and cultivate a positive, high-performance culture. This role oversees talent acquisition, employee engagement, performance and talent management, compliance, compensation and benefits, organizational development, and HR operations.
Partnering closely with executive leadership, the HR Director aligns people strategies with business objectives, advances diversity and inclusion, ensures adherence to federal and state employment regulations, and champions employee well-being. The position requires strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills to build, develop, and sustain an engaged and effective workforce.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain organizational structure and clarity by updating job descriptions and job requirements for all positions.
Lead staffing efforts by developing recruiting, testing, and interviewing programs; advising managers on candidate selection; conducting exit interviews; and recommending process improvements.
Oversee the effectiveness of onboarding, orientation, and training programs to ensure successful employee integration and development.
Manage compensation strategy by conducting market pay surveys, overseeing job evaluations, preparing annual pay budgets, monitoring pay actions, and recommending pay structure adjustments.
Support performance management by training leaders in coaching and corrective action, guiding employee reviews, resolving employee concerns, and facilitating necessary employee relations discussions.
Administer employee benefits programs, stay current on trends, evaluate plan options, manage vendor relationships, and provide education on available benefits.
Ensure compliance with all federal and state HR regulations, conduct investigations, maintain employee records, and represent the organization during audits or hearings.
Develop, update, and communicate HR policies and procedures to ensure clarity and alignment across the organization.
Stay current on HR best practices through professional development, networking, and continuous learning.
Oversee HR operational activities by assigning work, monitoring results, and supporting department efficiency.
Recruit, onboard, develop, and support HR team members to ensure high-quality HR service delivery.
Conduct HR-related audits and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with relevant standards including IATF, ISO, and TISAX .
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct supervision of the HR Manager, HR Generalist, HR Payroll Specialist, Training Supervisor, and Regional EHS Manager for North America.
Indirect supervision of employee trainers.
QUALIFICATIONS

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Knowledge of payroll systems preferred.
Competence in conducting employee investigations and handling sensitive matters.
Adaptability in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multitask and make informed decisions.
Proficiency with HRIS platforms such as ADP, Paycom, Paycor, or similar systems.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Working knowledge of manufacturing operations within an automotive environment is required.
Demonstrated ability to operate as a strategic HR business partner.
Strong leadership capability with a proactive, self-motivated approach.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management or related field; Master’s Degree strongly preferred .
10–15 years of broad HR generalist experience.
