Position Summary: 

The Microsoft Dynamics Business Analyst is responsible for analyzing business requirements, designing solutions, and optimizing business processes through the effective use of Microsoft Dynamics 365. This role acts as a bridge between business stakeholders and internal / 3rd party technical teams, ensuring that Dynamics solutions align with organizational goals and deliver measurable value.

Key Responsibilities
  • Requirements Gathering & Analysis
    • Collaborate with business units to elicit, document, and prioritize functional and non-functional requirements.
    • Translate business processes into system configurations and customizations within Microsoft Dynamics 365.
    • Conduct gap analyses to identify areas for system improvement or enhancement.
  • System Configuration & Support
    • Configure Dynamics 365 modules (e.g., Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Finance, Supply Chain, Business Central) based on business needs.
    • Work with developers to define and test system customizations, integrations, and data migrations.
    • Participate in solution design sessions and provide input on best practices for system configuration.
    • Maintain and update system documentation, workflows, and configuration logs.
  • Testing & Quality Assurance
    • Develop and execute test plans, including unit, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
    • Validate that delivered solutions meet business expectations and system standards.
  • Hands-on System Work
    • Perform hands-on system work, including data configuration, data imports, data exports, workflow creation, form customization, and email/SMS execution using Customer Insights – Journeys.
    • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and integrations using Dynamics 365 tools and Power Platform.
    • Troubleshoot issues and implement fixes directly within the application environment.
  • Training & Change Management
    • Provide end-user training, create user guides, and deliver support materials.
    • Champion system adoption by promoting best practices and process consistency.
  • Ongoing Support & Optimization
    • Monitor system performance, identify issues, and coordinate resolution.
    • Analyze and propose process improvements to maximize the use of Dynamics capabilities.
Qualifications
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience:
  • 3–5 years of experience as a Business Analyst  with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or older Dynamics versions (AX, CRM, NAV) required.
  • Experience in ERP/CRM implementation projects, including requirements gathering, configuration, testing, and training.
Technical Skills:
  • Proven experience with, and strong understanding of, Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Sales, Marketing, or Customer Insights).
  • Familiarity with Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps) and Microsoft ecosystem (SharePoint, Teams, Azure).
  • Proficient in data analysis, SQL queries, and business process modeling.
Soft Skills:
  • Excellent communication, project management, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated bias for action, consistently stepping in to accelerate progress, remove obstacles, and ensure timely execution.  
Preferred Certifications (a plus):
  • Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Fundamentals
  • Microsoft Certified: Business Applications Functional Consultant (specific to module)
  • PMP, CBAP, or Agile/Scrum certification
$120-150k Base DOE + Bonus
